The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace To Install Giant Illuminated Dragon In Preparation For Chinese New Year 2020

To celebrate Chinese New Year 2020 and welcome the Year of the Rat, The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace is once again installing a massive 950-lb Chinese dragon display. A steel structure covered in 30,000 red and amber LED lights, assembly of the 22-ft. long, 6 ft. wide and 12 ft. high creature will begin at 5 a.m. on Thursday, Jan 16 with estimated completion by 10 a.m.  

A legendary creature in Chinese mythology and folklore, the dragon is a traditional symbol of power, strength, and good luck. Once fully assembled, the dazzling display will be in place on the Fortuna Terrace near the interior casino entrance to The Forum Shops from Caesars Palace. 

A custom creation for The Forum Shops, the dragon will sit upon a lush red carpet and be surrounded by hand-painted wood pillars, gold fencing and red velvet ropes.

While the Chinese New Year begins on Saturday, Jan. 25 and it is the Year of the Rat, the traditional Chinese dragon will be on display at The Forum Shops beginning January 16 and throughout the end of February. 

Uncrating and assembly begin on Thursday, Jan 16 at 6 a.m. and will be complete by 10 a.m. at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, 3500 Las Vegas Blvd. South

The giant illuminated dragon will be assembled on the Fortuna Terrace – near the interior entrance to The Forum Shops from Caesars Palace casino.
