Since launching with its inaugural roster of artists in June 2019, The Rogers Art Loft at The Lucy, has successfully welcomed a number of artists from a variety of disciplines including printmaking, sculpture, video art, fiber arts, and collage, to share their creative insight and practice with the Las Vegas community. Dedicated to inclusivity, originality, and empowerment of artists, The Rogers Art Loft will be accepting applications for the 2021 Artist-in-Residency program beginning on March 16, 2020. The premier artist-in-residency program offers artists, both national and international, the opportunity to live and work in a first-of-its-kind creative community – The Lucy – in vibrant Downtown Las Vegas.
Applications for the 2021 calendar of residents are opening on March 16, 2020 and must be submitted by the deadline on May 11, 2020. Interested applicants can submit their Las Vegas-specific project proposal, portfolio, written statements and biographical information online by clicking here. Notifications will be sent out in July 2020.
Made possible by The Rogers Foundation, the Rogers Art Loft functions in conjunction with Rogers Studio Gallery to present artist talks, performances and exhibitions by artists-in-residence.
“The quantity and quality of the creative talent we have welcomed so far has been impressive and unmatched to say the least,” said Beverly Rogers, Chairman of the Board, The Rogers Foundation. “We remain dedicated to inclusivity, originality, and empowerment of artists and are looking forward to having even more inspirational artists visit.”
While participating in the multi-disciplinary Rogers Art Loft program, each artist prepares and offers an introductory Artist Talk event and a Culmination Exhibition that are free and open to the public. Each artist residency opportunity is approximately four-six weeks long, depending on artist’s needs and art practices. In addition to lodging in the brand-new Rogers Art Loft residence at The Lucy, designed by Cindy Reid, all the visiting artists are provided with access to the new Rogers Art Gallery studio space nearby to work and hold exhibitions.
