Gold Spike, downtown Las Vegas’ premier adult playground, announces the debut of fresh events and the return of fan favorites throughout the rest of 2023. From roller disco and live entertainment to emo nights and throwbacks, there’s something to tickle everyone’s fancy at Gold Spike.
Remind your friends, it was never a phase. Starting Thursday, April 6th at 9 p.m. and continuing every first Thursday of the month, the emo resurgence continues with Taking Back Thursday at Gold Spike. Guests are encouraged to lace up their Chucks and dust off their band tees as a rotating selection of local live bands bring emo’s best hits to The Backyard stage while DJ Teenwolf and special guest DJs take over The Living Room. It’s important to stay hydrated, so attendees can quench their thirst with a special menu of cocktails like the Drink 182 (Tito’s, choice of Red Bull), Sad On The Beach (Tito’s, Peach Schnapps, Cranberry Juice, OJ) and Welcome to the Jack Parade (Jack Daniels, Coke).
Starting Thursday, April 13th at 10 p.m. and continuingevery second and fourth Thursday of each month, Gold Spike’s ‘Backyard’ skate rink returns in the form of Down & Derby’s renowned roller disco party! Each night of Down & Derby embraces a new theme, fresh contests, entertainment and surprise guests. Skaters are invited to ‘roll up’ and show off their moves and participate in contests for the chance to win cash and prizes.
Nine bands, four nights, one champion. Battle of the Bands returns to The Backyard at Gold Spike Friday, April 7th at 8 p.m. The month-long competition will feature local Las Vegas bands facing off every Friday night hosted by Asia Jade. Audience votes will determine which bands are eliminated and which bands move forward in the competition, culminating in a final battle on Friday, April 28th. The winning group, as decided by fans, will receive a $1,000 grand prize.
In addition to its newest events, Gold Spike’s weekly throwback ladies’ night, Playback Wednesdays, live art and entertainment showcase, Cut A Rug, and Gold Spike’s Dimelo Latin Night continue to be responsible for ‘pour’ decisions every Wednesday, Third Thursday and Sunday of the month, respectively.
