Join your favorite characters from through the looking glass as a unique production of the famed Alice in Wonderland comes to The Space every Sunday in August. After two highly attended afternoons in July, the musical and puppetry production of the timeless classic has been extended due to popular demand. The production of Alice in Wonderland is every Sunday in August at 2 p.m. All tickets are $25 and available online at www.thespacelv.com or at the door pending availability.
The Space encourages all local children’s charities in Las Vegas to reach out and claim up to 30 complimentary tickets per performance. The Space is committed to bringing a wide variety of family-friendly programming to the community-based performing arts center. Interest charities can reach out to claim their tickets by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Having ‘Alice in Wonderland’ at The Space every Sunday is a perfect family outing,” says Mark Shunock, founder of The Space. “The show is so much fun and unlike anything we’ve ever hosted. I love we are getting families here on Sunday afternoons to see the show and able to host kids in the valley from our Mondays Dark charity partners.”
In this visually engaging production created by DLUX Puppets, all of the characters who encounter Alice are intricately engineered life size puppets, hand built and voiced by the company’s founder Derek Lux. Derek is a multi-talented performer who starred in Beach Blanket Babylon in San Francisco for four years while writing the show and building the puppets during the day. His wife Lauren Lux plays Alice in the production, is a fourth grade teacher at a charter school in Henderson, and is DLUX Puppets’ education director. Alice in Wonderland made its debut in May 2017 in Walnut Creek, CA.
While the production is designed to teach children how to use the power of their words, thoughts and feelings in a positive way, above all else, DLUX Puppet’s Alice in Wonderland is a feast for the eyes and an afternoon of family fun.
DLUX Puppets has created and tours in performing art centers with two original multimedia adaptations of Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. Using actors, life size puppetry, Live Virtual Sets and parodied classic songs, these shows provide entertainment for the entire family. For more information, please visit www.DLUXpuppets.com
